Redesign of Holmy

This is a personal project and my personal redesign of an existing website. All information in this case study is my own and does not reflect the view of the owners of the company.
Context
Project overview
I started a personal challenge to find great digital products and rethink them from the ground up. This is my redesign of Holmy, a Brazilian home rental platform that curates exceptional homes and travel experiences. Their mission is to connect travelers with unforgettable places, and this project is my take on how design can elevate that connection.
redesigning the landing page
Bringing out the soul of the product
The original experience didn’t quite reflect how special Holmy is. It felt more standard than premium, lacked emotional pull and had some friction for users to start exploring right away. The platform’s biggest strengths, its personal curation and incredible property categories, were buried. My goal was to bring those strengths to the surface and design an experience that truly matched the product’s value.
Goals
search experience
Helping users find the right home
The search needed to highlight the beauty and uniqueness of the homes. I redesigned the page to be more visual and intuitive, prioritizing large photos, clean filters and smooth scrolling. The goal was to create a sense of discovery, making users feel like they’re browsing a curated gallery, putting each home on a spotlight.
details page
Better visual hierarchy for clarity
The house detail page needed to tell a better story. I focused on visual hierarchy, whitespace and stronger typography to guide the eye of the reader. The new layout brings the home’s personality forward with immersive images, key info up top and clear action buttons. I also added space to highlight host curation, amenities and categories, reinforcing the premium, handpicked feel of Holmy.
